Silence: Little Mermaid Retold (Romance a Medieval Fairytale, #5)

Silence: Little Mermaid Retold (Romance a Medieval Fairytale, #5)

While this was nor my favorite Fairy Tale ...  it was an interesting retelling. The characters are well defined and intriguing. The story was fun and familiar.

Well done!  {I was given this book as an ARC in hopes I would write an honest review.}

Bring the Heat by K.B. Winter

This was a bonus story in K.B. Winter's book Spring Training.

It has been fun to read about the players stories and how they got to where they are & got their women!

This was a fun HOT read, it was Steamy! The characters are well defined and jump off the page.

If that is what you enjoy reading then read it, you will not be sorry.

Sweet Spot by KB Winters

This has become a fun genre that is a break from my favorite genre Paranormal fiction/romance.
When I want a fun, light & steamy read ...  I read a book like this.

That said this was a great Book! The characters were well developed, the struggles seemed real & I'm personally invested. It was also a steamy read!

Looking forward to the next book!

Apollo's 11: A Filthy Rich Single Dad Romance

I tried very hard to dislike Apollo, really I Did! Even after I became endeared to him he still managed to make to "not like" him at times.

He is mercurial and hard to read often but it doesn't detract from his realness & passion.

Callie is sweet but sassy  ...  I like her ...  a lot! I cried with Callie & loved with Callie   ...  I identified with Callie!

Ares was an absolute joy to read about;  I wanted to hug him & I wanted to cry for him a couple times.

These characters are so well described they eazily become real; I have clearly defined "pictures" of them in my head.

This book was an absolute joy to read & I also enjoyed the Bonus Epilouge!

A Shade of Vampire (A Shade Of Vampire, #1) by Bella Forrest

On the evening of Sofia Claremont's seventeenth birthday, she is sucked into a nightmare from which she cannot wake.

I loved this book & look forward to book 2 in the series!

The Breed Nora's Choice (The Breed, #2) by Alice K Waybe

*Warning: This book is the second book in a series, and must be read second. This book contains strong sexual content and graphic violence and is not suitable for persons under 18*

Well written and captivating. Read in less than a day & pray there will be more!

Incubus (Daughters of Lilith, #2) by Jennifer Quintenz

I was given this book free in exchange for an Honest review,  so here goes.

I am a picky but voracious reader, when I find something I'm interested by I envelope it. This character Braedyn has captured me. I am fascinated by her day to day struggle to be a normal kid under anything but normal circumstances.  I am also fascinated by her struggle to be the human her dad raised her to be instead of the deom she was bor  to be. I have tried recently through a few free book email rings & websites to find new authors & books to read.  I have found a few gems & so far this series is one of them.

Off to finish book 3 and the book 4 ... I'll let you know what I think of those as well!

Thrall (Daughters of Lilith, #1) by Jennifer Quintenz

I was given this book free in exchange for an Honest review, so here goes.

I was intrigued and couldn't put it down. I fell into the nook & before I knew it, I had finished it.

I look forward to the other books in the series!

The Undead In My Bed (Dark Ones #10.5; Half-Moon Hollow #2.5; Midnight Liaisons #1.5) by Katie MacAlister, Molly Harper & Jessica Sims

I LOVE these books & the Dark Ones. Who doesn't love a sexy, brooding alpha male that NEEDS you to save them!
sign me up! Looking forward to others!

Bring Out Your Dead (Dark Ones, #4.5) by Katie MacAlister

Battling a demon lord is all in a day’s work for the Dark One named Sebastian. But now he must take on a horde of unhappy zombies and an obnoxious teen vampire if he wants to win the hand of the one woman who can make him whole.

I LOVE these books & the Dark Ones. Who doesn't love a sexy, brooding alpha male that NEEDS you to save them!
sign me up! Looking forward to others!

Witchy Trouble (Witchy Fingers, #1) by Mic Saint

Witchy Trouble is the first book in the humorous Witchy Fingers series about three sisters whose heritage suddenly sends their lives spiraling out of control. If you like cozy witch mysteries, you’ll love Edelie, Estrella and Ernestine and all of their witchy shenanigans!

I loved this book! These 3 witches are a bumbling bunch and I love them.

I am routing for the witches and looking forward to other books in the series.

The Bare Witch Project (Kitty Coven #1) by Celest Hall

I loved this book! It was a fun read and I do love a good witch story.

I am hoping for more to read!

Discern (Mosaic Chronicles, #1) by Andrea Pearson

I was interested by the premise of the story & I can say it was not a let down. YA is not my normal genre but paranormal fiction is & this was a good book!

I am actively considering reading the others in the series. They are currently in my TBR  list.

Elementals: The Complete Series by Michelle Madow

Book 1 review:
I was pulled in from the beginning of this book. Some parts reminded me of other series I have read but I loved the Greek mythology spin! I started this book last night & despite having to work today & cook dinner I finished it tonight. Now on to Book 2 in the series.

The plot is pretty clear & descriptions more than good enough to get a good picture of places, events & the characters in the book! I think  may have found a new favorite author!

{I received free in hopes of writing an honest review.}

Book 2 review:
It was brought to my attention that I read very fast as I finished both of these books in less than 8 hours each. I also read it a little last night about Greek Mythology and the gods/godesses because I am the type of reader who has to know; has to understand what is written. Michelle Madow did due diligence with the Greek mythology portions of these books.  They draw you in and refuse yo release you until you have finished them. Looking forward to starting the next book tomorrow.

This was a well written; well planned book with characters that jump off the page!

Book 3 review:
I have always like Greek Mythology and these books are full of it  ...  Just know that I read it fast and was interested from start to finish. I am well outside of the YA age group but still find these books fascinating!
This book is well written as were the previous 2; Michelle Madow obviously loves what she does & it shows!
I have always like Greek Mythology and these books are full of it. Well researched and the story is very well told.
Take a chance & give the series a read!

Book 4 review:
I just finished reading this book and I was not let down.I was about to be very unhappy about some events but by the end I was looking forward to seeing what happens. Sorry about being vague but I often read reviews before reading a book & I don't want to ruin it for anyone.

Just know that I read it fast and was interested from start to finish. I am well outside of the YA age group but still find these books fascinating!
Take a chance & give the series a read!

Book 5 review: Sad to see the series end  ...
I really enjoyed the fresh take on the Witch  ...  I loved the well thought out and we'll researched Greek Mythology references and characters in this series! I was sad to see it end the way it did but after the 4 previous books ... I was not surprised. I didn't stop reading unless I had to work, sleep, eat or if my tablet died!

NOTE: I was given the ARC of this book to read & review IF I choose to. With that said ... this is the fair & honest review I CHOSE to write!

Cold Blood (Dirty Blood, #2) by Heather Hildenbrand

This story continues & Thank the Gods it does!

Now, all I can do is accept the truths that are staring me in the face. One, Werewolves do exist. And Two, I was born to kill them.
This was a great YA story and you really learn to love the characters!

I look forward to other books & character & story development.

Dirty Blood (Dirty Blood, #1) by Heather Hildenbrand

Now, all I can do is accept the truths that are staring me in the face. One, Werewolves do exist. And Two, I was born to kill them.

This was a great YA story and you really learn to love the characters!

I look forward to other books & character & story development.

Santa Shifter in Manahattan: Sweet and Sexy Billionaire Shifters (The Wolves of Central Park Book 2) by Lexy Cole

This was a fun, sexy light read & I am looking forward to any other books that may follow.

Billionaire Shifters in Manhattan (The Wolves of Central Park Book 1) by Lexy Cole

This was a fun, sexy light read & I am looking forward to book 2!

The Truth Spell (Werewolf High Book 1) by Anita Oh

Surprisingly fantastic ...

I downloaded this book for free (though not as an ARC, with no ask for a review) and I am not sure how long it has been sitting I  my kindle library but it has been sitting. I was looking for a quick read, it took me about 5 hours to devour this book and devour it I did!
It was an interesting story about an out of place teen and her struggle to acclimate to a borading school for the wealthy . She has to catch up academically and quickly figure out that at least some of the Paranormal world is real  ...  really dangerous and out to get them!

This book is well written, interesting and the characters are easily identified with. You really start to like some & not some others  ...  though I hope to change my mind about a couple by the end of the next couple books!

Beyond the Veil (The Veil, #1) by Pippa DaCosta

I loved this book & can't wait to read others in the series!

This book had well developed characters and a setting that comes alive. It makes you want more!

I received this book free as an ARC with hopes I would write an honest review.

Lichgates (The Grimoire Saga, #1) by S.M. Boyce

The final page will leave you breathless.

When Kara Magari uncovers a secret door in the middle of the forest, she discovers (and trips through) a portal to a hidden world full of terrifying things: Ourea. She just wants to go home, but the natives have other plans for her. She clashes with immortal shapeshifters, is carried off by a dragon, nearly dies on several occasions, and somehow becomes the master of an ancient book of magic called the Grimoire.

This was a good book. I look forward to working towards the other books in this series in my TBR list at some point.

It was a good YA or clean paranormal romance book.
I received this book free as an ARC with hopes I would write an honest review.

A Question of Faith (Magic Incarnate, #1) by Nicole Zoltack

This was a fresh take on the Witch genre. It was well thought out and well written. I am looking forward to reading the next one in the Series. The action is slow in coming do to plot & character development but it is there & some is surprising!

FYI: I received the book for free in hopes that I would write an honest review.

Witchy Hexations (Witchy Fingers Book 2) by Mic Saint

This book was, so fun to read! Triplet witches that are TERRIBLE witches! I am hoping they will come into their witch'iness! Who knows!

I look forward to other books with these lackluster witch triplets!

I'd Rather be a Witch (The Cotton Candy Quintet #2) by Erin Hayes

I was sent this book the author in exchange for an honest review.

This book was fascinating and heartbreaking at the same time. Jordyn Murphy is a young woman who made mistakes with the best intentions. Only to learn your intent doesn't mean much sometimes. You can set out to do good and end up doing bad with no way to fix it.
This books discusses that nothing comes without a price and you had better hope you are willing to pay the price.

It was a good read ... I look forward to more books about Jordyn!

Frost Burn (Fire and Ice #1) by Erica Stevens

This was a good book & I look forward to making it to any other books in the series. I am adding them to my enormous TBR list!

Ghosts of Witches Past (Witches of Tower Hill, #1) by Corinne O'Flynn

This book was Brilliant! The characters were so well written I could see them  ...  the places and story were so vivid it was like watching a movie while I read this book!

I loved that there were twists and though I had figured out part of the twists I was still surprised  by others!

This was a fun, clean YA read that even an adult well past YA can appreciate and enjoy!

Remnants (Shifter Chronicles, #2) by Melle Amade

Breathtaking

Few books have been able to move me to tears  ...  Remnants did just that, more than once!

I fell in "like" with Shae and her ragtag pack of Friends, all a different type of shifter. All drawn together by a single purpose  ...  to fix Shae. Then there is dissent, a rally and a new crazy purpose.

This book was well worth the time to read!

[I was given this book free as an ARC, with hopes I would write an honest review.]

Sanctuary (Shifter Chronicles, #1) by Melle Amade

Surprisingly great

I am part of the author Melle's newsletter & ARC group, I recieved this book free I  hopes I would love it & review it.

I fell in love with this strange group of friends from the beginning. There were times I wanted to smack them all Shae included but that is just the Mom in me. I wanted to hug Shae & protect her & Henry. I wanted Aiden to make up his mind & for Shae to do the same ...  Callum & Zan deserve at least that! I wanted to right the injustices and make their world a better place. I was moved to tears more than once & this is not an easy feat! I was sad at the end but now ... On to the next in the series Remnants  (which I received as an ARC!)

How to be a Wicked Women ( Anthology including work from Mary Janice Dickenson & others)

This was outside of what I normally read but it was a hot & saucy Anthology of Erotic themed stories with Alpha Female characters.

It was a fun read, I recommend for some light reading.

Dark Harvest Magic (Ella Grey, #2) by Jayne Faith

OMG  ...

In my last review for the 1st book in this series Stone Cold Magic, I said I was waiting for Ella to come into her own. Oh boy did she ever! Also ended up neutered so to speak as well!

I'm genuinely hoping they can find a way to halt the "reaper" and she can keep the new Magic.
These books remind me of the Hollows books series by Kim Harrison! Can't wait for the next book Demon Born Magic!

Stone Cold Magic (Ella Grey, #1) by Jayne Faith

This book was fun from start to finish! I am seriously waiting for Ella to come into her own  ...  and I think it is coming!

Johnny is a yummy dimension & Damien seems like the perfect partner! Ready for book 2 now!

Awaken: Sleeping Beauty Retold (Romance a Medieval Fairytale, #2)

I had thoroughly enjoyed the first book Enchant: Beauty and the Beast Retold. This retelling of Sleeping Beauty, one of my all-time favorite Fairy Tales was simply Amazing!

Call me crazy but the little girl that apparently still lives inside me love's a Fairy Tale. When the hero is a strong woman, I love it even more.

I adored Rosamond from the beginning and so wanted her & Sir Warin to become the ruling pair.

Her power is Intriguing as an avid gardener myself and to watch her do what she did broke my heart. The twist was worth continuing the book!

I look forward to checking out the next fairy tale once I work through my literal list of books to read. Thank you to Kindle Unlimited for allowing me to read this for free!

Enchant: Beauty and the Beast Retold (Romance a Medieval Fairytale, #1) by Demelza Carlton

This was a fun and interesting retelling of Beauty and the Beast. There were obvious parallels that were time period specific but parallels just the same. The names were different but the story was still just as enchanting.

This book was fun to read and I read it in a matter of hours!
Looking forward to Awaken the next in the series!

Dark Sight: The Dark Sight Series 1 by T. H. Ayer

Dark Sight:

This book was brilliant! It is steeped in Greek & Roman Mythology/History. Seems to be set in nearly modern times with a twist. There has been considerable research put into this book and the writing is eloquent. I have a large vocabulary from many, many books read & a general love of language but even I had to Google a couple to be sure I understood.

I fell in love with the cast of Characters, Alleges, Max, Denis, Corina, Flavius, even Pepper! I was sad to lose some of the cast to events in the books. I look forward to revisiting the characters to see them grow.

I hope there will be others in this series! [I received this book free as an ARC with hopes I would write an honest review.]

Skin Deep (Dark World, #1) by T. G. Ayer

Skin Deep - Skinwalker #1:

This is an interesting take on a lycanthrope story, truthfully I tend to like my Shifters of the wolf variety. However, this story is so well written with action from the start that I'm not bothered by the feline shifters. I'm constantly looking for the next action spike and for what Kailin will do next.

You immediately feel for the young Walker whose parents are absent, mother gone for 16 years & dad cold since mom left.

Then enters the equally young Agent of Omega ... aka Logan. There is an immediate attraction that they both fight at first.

Many twists, turns & violence ensue & then add in a few more. The characters are so well written they jumped off the page & I got a clear visual of them all.

looking forward to the next book!

[I received this book free as an ARC with hopes I would write an honest review.]

Just Another Day in Hell (Book 0.5 in the Mel Goes To Hell series by Demelza Carlton

Just Another Day In Hell:

"Mutiny, maiming and a demanding mistress. Just Another Day In Hell."

The 0.5 starter book of the Mel Goes To Hell series. I received as an ARC with hopes I would write an honest review.

With that said  ...  I am intrigued. I'm trying to dislike Luce but it has been a hard sell so far. Maybe I will fall in love with Mel in "Welcome to Hell" and will find a way to dislike Luce  ...  time will tell.

Off to read  Welcome To Hell  ...

See You in Hell (Mel Goes to Hell, #2) by Demelza Carlton

See You In Hell:

"Congratulations on your new job. We'll see you in HELL at nine on Monday morning."

This is the 2nd book of the Mel Goes To Hell series. I received as an ARC with hopes I would write an honest review.

With that said  ...  I really like Mel  ...  she is Hell bent on helping so very angelic but there is a very human side to her as well.  To find out she is as powerful as she is & a highly ranked Angel was a fun twist! You try to hate Luce, I mean he is Lucifer but you just can't! All I can say is Holy Twists Batman!
I am looking  forward to more!

Off to read  the next book in the series ... Mel Goes to Hell.

Welcome to Hell: Book 1 in the Mel Goes To Hell series by Demelza Carlton

Welcome to Hell: Book1 in the Mel Goes To Hell series by Demelza Carlton:

"Just think of something about you that's really desirable for the job, but that you might not like. " "My books are too big?" Mel suggested.
"Oh Hell...Mel!"

The 1st book of the Mel Goes To Hell series. I received as an ARC with hopes I would write an honest review.

With that said  ...  I am looking g forward to more! Mel's interview was brilliant. As a hiring manager I would have Offered on the spot to Mel! I love the working relationship between Mel & Raphael. I look forward to additional working relationships that may pop up in future eposodes!

Off to read  the next book in the series ... See You In Hell.

Dark Kin (DarkWorld: Soul Tracker book 2 by T. G. Ayer)

Dark Kin (DarkWorld: Soul Tracker book 2 by T. G. Ayer)

A wild ride from start to finish  ...  it is clear I should read the next in the Skin Walker books so I fully understand the relationship between Mel & Kai. I am looking forward to that.

I love Saleem and hope it works out for them with the twists revealed in this book.

Ready to dive into the next book soon!

Blood Magic ( DarkWorld Soul Tracker 1 by T.G. Ayer)

Blood Magic ( DarkWorld Soul Tracker 1 by T.G. Ayer)

No spoilers ... just an honest review

I received this book free with the hopes I would read it & leave a review.

I liked this story, starts a little slow as there is a good amount of plot & character building. Mel is dynamic, stubborn often at her own expense and frankly a tour de force!

This is a good quick read& a good beginning to a series. Now on to the next book!

Requiem (Chronicles of Irin Book 2 by T.G. Ayer)

Requiem (Chronicles of Irin Book 2 by T.G. Ayer)

We start out in Hell  ...  where every Nephilum dreams of ruling one day ... 😂
Trying to find someone who should innately love you and want to be found. Do they really? "Those how search may not always find exactly what they are looking for. "
I am saying right now, without dropping spoilers, that person is right there! Now, will Evie recognize it and will they admit it?  Ok after a few more chapters, an angel battle & a confession  ...  I was wrong. OMG  ...  This can't be Good!

Oh My Julian! The sexy "former" Hades King of Hell  ...  might be worth staying for!

Holy Fallen Angels Batman! Gabriel (Gavriel) & Daniel  ...  This could spell trouble! Oh, it spells trouble, a battle, injured angels & confessions that may be unwelcomed.

Twists a plenty  ...  looking forward to Resonance!

Retribution (Chronicals of Irin book 1 by T.G. Ayer)

Retribution  (Chronicals of Irin book 1 by T.G. Ayer)

Evangeline is a strong character who is perhaps too smart for her own good. She has crack instincts that she knows better than to ignore  ...  more than 1,000 years of life has taught her that.

She has become suspicious of recent events and has begun to distrust  ...  which is unusual for this Nephilim. She has become adversarial with current leadership & at times goes out of her way to irritate them. Not always a trait of hers as she fully trusted previous leadership.

This book was well written with amazing detail to ancient Roman history & Greek/Roman mythology. I will say I caught some foreshadowing pretty early in the story but was not upset when the twists started. I was routing for the twists & turns!  Now on to the next book!

[I received this book free as an ARC with hopes I would write an honest review.]

Hunter: Fairy Tale Bad Boys by Erin Bedford

Hunter: Fairy Tale Bad Boys

This was a pulse racer! You want to hate both main characters at some point or another in this book.

The characters are well developed, the setting is vivid enough for this visual person to "see it" in my mind's eye and you really can get into the book.

The others are in my TBR list! Thank goodness for Kindle Unlimited!

Shameless by M. Malone:

Shameless by M. Malone:

Lucia is searching for answers  ...  will she get them? She may very well get her answers but at what cost? Can she accept the truth of Rafe's death. Of all of what Noah keeps hidden?

Noah is conflicted  ...  will he figure out what he wants? Well he figures out what he wants but will he allow himself to be Happy? He is dark, his past & present are dark & he fully expects his future to be the same way. Not deserving of love, light & kindness. I sure hope he gets his head out of his arse!

Oh the humanity  ...  trying to get into the "mood" then your surrogate "big brother" interrupts & has your sex toy out for all to see. The subsequent fight for the toy ends with it hitting your "date" in the face! 😂
Best line in the book by far, I laughed so hard I almost had a per problem, lol!

I probably should have seen the twist at the end, I'm usually pretty good with foreshadowing. I admit, I missed It!

good book, give it a try!

[I received this book free as an ARC with hopes I would write an honest review. ]

Hidden Blade (Book 1: Soul Eater series) by Poppa DaCosta

Hidden Blade (Book 1: Soul Eater series) by Poppa DaCosta

Oh my  ...  I do love some Gods, Goddesses, myths & legends  ...  and this book delivers!

You want to love & hate Ace, you feel for him and everyone he interacts with. You hope he can find a permanent solutions to the isdues that plague him!

Wreck of the Day (Book 3 in series, 2nd with Saylor & Oliver)

Few books have created such a wide variety of emotions. I finally find out what haunts Oliver and I have never wanted to hug away someone's demons so much!
I am also torn apart by decisions Saylor makes in the last book & continues with in this book. I'm elated to see a twist in that regard but am torn again by the results!
The twist at the end is gut wrenching & now I need to know what happens after ... to be continued  ...

I received this book free as an ARC with hopes I would write an honest review.

Sugar We're Going Down

I tried very hard to dislike Oliver from the start but I don't think it can be done. The tension between the two of them is palpable. We come to know the why's in regards to Saylor but not Ollie. I want to know why he says "he isn't a good person." Why doesn't he deserve to be happy?

Looking forward to Wreck of the Day in June!

Rise (Coven of Fire 1) by Sierra Cross

*+* SPOILER ALERT  *+*

I spent the last 8 hours or so if awake time not spent working reading this book.

It was amazing! I am actively looking forward to the next book  & rooting for a couple or two in this book!

Alix is a dynamic character that thought she had little to know magic but seems that may not be so. There seems to be family issues (yikes!) and a budding attraction between Alix and Matt (hopefully!)

The loss of a coven member at the end and the betrayal of A family member were painful for Alix & me the reader.

Holy Demons readers!

Magic Waking Book 1:

At the mention of the Greatest Magician  ...  I immediately thought of Merlin. Then other mentions a Dark Fae that was a she and my Prince. Then clues like Darton & Art being a nickname  ...  I squealed inside as I live Arthurian legends & stories.
At this point I was in  ...  I had to know what was going on & what would happen!

I love that "Merlin" reincarnates as both men & woman but Arthur so far has been a man! 😂

There is plenty of action & peril with a little romance for good measure!

OMG! I can not wait for the next book!
